The Drying Green

Another example of sound art in public space is this sound installation on the Glasgow Green, a place where people used to bring their wet laundry to dry, as they did not have a garden next to their house, up until 1977.
The Drying Green is a sound installation consisting of four poles with speakers on top, playing the sound of washing machines, thus bringing the listener back to the days when the same field would be full of drying clothes.
I was not able to find the names of the creators of this piece of public sound art. If you happen to know, tips are welcome!

New Band of Horses Video: "NW Apt."
Band of Horses don't appear in their video for "NW Apt.", from their forthcoming album Infinite Arms. Instead, director and longtime BoH visual collaborator Christopher Wilson fills the video with bucolic outdoor scenery, much of it shot in time-lapse. It's pretty enough to make you wonder what you're doing sitting in an office, watching videos.

I was trained in Boston at the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts under master and author Philip C. Lowe. I begin with this information in an attempt to achieve legitimacy and to convey my lifelong passion for my work. My latest video is on using hand planes to work a slab table top into shape because my machines just aren't big enough to do the job.
